So.. I didn't see a board for this specific type of thing. I'll probably get flamed for this, sorry if its in the wrong spot.

My Slim seems to be broken. NO red lets ANYWHERE, not on the power brick, not on the console. It shuts itself down every 5 minutes and 5 seconds. I did this a few times and it doesn't stay on longer than thatt. I did every single trouble shoot. tried to plug it in in a different room, a different socket. i tried a new power brick, checked the auto off settings. at first i thought it was my hdmi port, tried a new hdmi wire, tried the rca jacks. still the same result. it still shuts down at 5:05.

I noticed the fan stopped working so i thought that was the issue. I went in and did the 12v mod, nothing but very cool air flowed out and it helped the time a bit usually ranging between 5:20 and 5:35 but still shuts itself off. im familiar with xbox (both slims and the old ones) internal workings so i didn't do anything stupid to mess it up. Im thinking maybe the rf board has a short in it.

I plan on modding this xbox but i dont want to go buying a new fan/rf board if the problem might be something else.

Any suggestions as to what may cause this problem?

thanks guys.

Does it say at the bottom of the screen that its shutting down if so you need to change your parental controls if that's it then, it was probably a hardware problem due to Microsoft and either you have to send it to them to get it fix or let it become a expensive paperweight

Well if you want it that way there may be some people that can help you in the marketplace section so go check there.

Also, I saw a post saying they had the same problem and someone posted to try plugging it in to a different socket so you should try that to.
