If price doesn't matter, build a desktop (with my/our help) and get an ultraportable laptop. That way, you get the best of both worlds instead of the worst of both. Gaming laptops are huge, poorly-built, ugly, crapware-infested, power-hungry, underperforming, and extremely heavy. They're crappy laptops and crappy gaming machines.
Instead, I'd opt for a Thinkpad X230 or an Asus UX21A for when you're on the move and a custom-built desktop.
