There is no "good gaming monitor", you pay for what you get. In most cases buying an expensive product is going to get you a good product. Since you want a monitor, you probably mean in the 20-24" range. Prices you will find are going to vary from $100-$200 depending on size. You didn't exactly say what this monitor is going to be used for, but I would go with 1080p. Look the specs very closely also, they will make a big difference. Try websites like newegg, I have seen some AMAZING deals for monitors.

Here's a link to a monitor I found really quickly, check it out and look at the specs and prices.

ASUS 23" 2 MS Respond time is the Best gaming monitor on the market and there pretty cheap around $200.

That's the type of monitor they use at MLG.

2MS are for gaming anything over would be like gaming on a t.v

Not true. The human eye can't detect refresh rates over 60 Hz. a 5 ms response time equates to 200 Hz. You can almost always ignore the response time unless you're dealing with IPS panels.

Here's a good monitor for the price. $150 after all rebates an it has a matte panel.
