I jailbroke my iPhone 4 CDMA with Absinthe 2.0.1 yesterday and I wanted to restore it today so I did. I downloaded the newer version which is 2.0.2 and jailbroke it again. After I look in cydia, there is a download which is Rocky Racoon which is suppose to untether your tethered jailbroken device. I removed it from my download list and later I rebooted my device. I found out that I couldnt open cydia which meant my device was tethered. But how could that be? What I did was I rebooted it with redsn0w and downloaded Rocky Racoon which made my device tethered. It makes no sense because Absinthe is suppose to be untethered am I right?

If you uninstall rocky racoon, WHICH YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO!! You will lose your jailbreak. And rocky racoon is the untether, and absinthe installs that for you.

Absinthe 2.0 is untethered once you jailbreak it. They released a update to the untethering exploit though. And if you delete the exploit update that will take away your untether and your jailbreak. Its not a glitch

So what they are trying to say is, Jailbreak your device again, but this time understand what you're doing before you start deleting things you need....

I have seen a lot of threads on various forums where people are deleting rocky racoon. I don't understand why people are doing this?

You know why is because Pod2g didnt tell us that this was a normal jailbreak. It says that Absinthe is already untethered so people think it's ONLY for the people that already had a tethered device before absinthe.
