I need help building a computer for recording, editing and rendering. I need everything but a monitor. My current budget is around 450$. (It will increase in the future, but thats a ways away)

If anyone could help, it would be awesome. My budget would be higher but I also have to buy a HDPVR. I'm not interested in gaming, I may do SLIGHT gaming, but that is about it in reality.

I was buying this computer bundle for $900. I was wondering if it was worth the price, or if I could make something better and cheaper. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

If you are interested in that..... Lets say its from sams club and you can build that for 50 times cheaper. Not worth it in any bit. Just make your own. You will save a lot, it will be better, and for 900 you can build a kick-ass computer:)

Fill out the form and we'll help you get something that isn't... Awful. A 6670 doesn't belong in a $900 PC if it's for gaming and the components are junk. Non-K CPU, H61 board, a PSU that won't handle any upgrades, likely a 5400 RPM boot drive... Ick. You'll be amazed what you can get for $900!

Reverence wrote I need help finding a laptop.

Budget: 360$

All I need is a laptop that can surf the web at moderate speeds and can play light games such as runescape.

The HP DM1Z is one of the few budget laptops like this I can recommend. Don't confuse it with a netbook, it's got a nice screen, awesome build quality, and the E-1200 should handle Runescape (to my knowledge) and basic tasks like a champ. The DM1Z is a REALLY nice total package and is rated for 10 hours (!!!!!!) of battery life.

99.9% of pre built computers are so it's not surprising that the Dell follows this trend.

Very, very nice for the price. Arma II is a very demanding game and you'll want to lower the quality settings to get a good experience with this card. Otherwise, this build has an exceptional upgrade path and great specs. Bigger monitor than you expected, arguably the best mouse you can buy, and likely the best non-mechanical keyboard out there in terms of switch quality. If you want to know anything else, just tell me!
