I know. How does someone get paid 10 mil a year to shoot a ball into a basket? I love the sport but that's wayyy to much. Yet true heroes like police officers, firefighters, and people in the military get paid much less.

Most of you people that talk about them bad dont know bball, thats why the superstars you hate on make more money in ONE YEAR. Than most people make in there entire lives... LOL. They are good thats why they get paid great from there teams, and way more from endorsements
They are also greedy people who are partially responsible for the lockout. If I was good enough to be in the NBA I would take a 4 year contract for just 1M lol.

...You gotta be kidding me. You root for the Celtics but you complain about the Heat's payroll? KG gets $21 million/year. Allen with $15 million/year. Rondo with $10 million/year. Pierce with $15 million/year.

The only player that deserves higher than $10 million on the Celtics would be Pierce because he's an original Celtic and he has a lot of awards to back him up for.

If you're LeBron and take 1 million for four years, that's one of the stupidest moves of your life. No team will pay you any money after your contract is done because you were so lenient. Do you know how much money LeBron had to pay to get this pro in his life? LeBron probably has spent a lot of money in his young life and he needs to pay it off somehow. Most players come from a poor family. 250k/year doesn't cut it.

I have to agree with you there, police officers, paramedics, firefighters, military.. They deserve way more, they risk there lives everyday to make our communities better, keep us safe, and keep us free... Its crazy how terrible they get paid.

Yeah I know but I'm just saying that what they do is way more important than basketball.

But if your'e going to take a one million contract for four years, you get 250k per year.

Let's say you live in Boston currently. You get drafted to Los Angeles. 250k to get you a place to stay in LA. LA is a rich community. You can't get a good house with 250k in LA really. 250k would be like a condo. A condo doesn't have security. You aren't safe in it. Anybody could break your house open and steal your stuff. Or they can even kill you.

Maybe if you get 1 million immediately, then it'd be alright to take it but not if they ration it out. You won't have enough money to life as a famous person. Most players that play the game don't have a lot of money, that's why they play a sport and try their best to go pro in it. Because there family kind of relies on it.

...You got to be kidding me. I wasn't directed at the Heat directly. I wasn't even directing at anyone. I was directing it at the greedy people in the NBA.

Also saying that doesn't cut it is ridiculous. I have one parent who makes less than 100k a year with a fine amount of debts, and we still manage fine. Making 250k a year is more than manageable. Maybe they should buy ranch houses that are the norm is urban areas and pay debts.

Edit: Yes moving into an area like LA is expensive, but can easily be made not that expensive. Maybe if the stars bothered to live in a not-so-expensive area when moving, they could manage, also if you get drafted from a good team, or was already making a lot like Lebron was, you most likely have a pretty rocking house. Try selling it and with that 4 million buy a one story home that is middle class and you're fine.

I really hope that the Celtics can pull this off.
