plug it into your computer
if itunes recognizes your idevice
go to this url: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
and download your firmware
once downloaded go to itunes
go to your device tab on itunes
hold left shift key and click restore
a box will open asking you to choose your firmware
choose the firmware you just downloaded
this should restore your device PM me if you have any more questions

let me take a guess you tried to restore in the settings? Hold the Power and home button for atleast 10 seconds then plug it into itunes and restore:)
