Drugs are so common is southern states such as Florida, Texas, and California.

The closer to Mexico they are, the worse they are.

That's only true for certain drugs. Weed is pretty common everywhere. Cocaine is the big one in the south. Meth also. Party drugs aren't to common in the south except for Florida during like spring break near the beaches and stuff. Pills are the new drugs. Granted mos drugs are everywhere.
