Hey guys,
The title says it all really! I'm starting college soon meaning I will be using my computer a lot to complete assignments etc, as well as research and Internet browsing!
I will also be starting my YouTube channel ...
I speced my iMac which came to a cost of 1300 Pounds!
Should I buy one? I really want one, but also realises the amount of money it requires!

IMO i love mine!!! i have the 27'' inch model. it also seems like the perfect computer for what you are doing to! but it really comes down to if you really want it or spend that much money on a computer.but i dont regret getting my computer.

You should buy an Alienware by microsoft.

Macs are way worth it. If you have the money than yes.

Well I use my mums computer at the moment haha! But Iv just got a job, so in 4 months I can pay it off! Just 1300 pounds is hard to swallow, but hopefully will be worth it!

Build your own PC or get someone to do it for you.
iMacs are way over priced for the specs.

For what you would want to do, it may not be the best choice. PCs (Windows) can come very cheap if all you want to do is use this computer for assignments and internet browsing. I have a 24 inch model and I mostly use it for video editing (Final Cut Pro and Adobe After Effects) and photo editing (Adobe Photoshop) and it does very well for those things. I like to think of Macs as a work type computer and a PC (again, Windows) as a gaming computer. Since you have no intention of using this computer only for gaming or only for work, you may want to just find a cheap PC with a good amount of RAM. If you really do prefer OSX over Windows (like myself) and have the money to spare, then go with the Mac, you wont be disappointed. You get what you pay for.

Thanks for the great reply! I was looking at desktop computers but they still 800 pounds +, and for that I'd rather get an iMac for it's software! I was looking at mac mini, but that speced up was still 900 pounds! iMac seems great, and will be using it for media etc
