Yes, it does.
That's why it is called a "Glitch".
Nobody is making you do it and you are getting direct instructions on how to do it from 4J.

I do not personally use the duplication glitch because I play my gamemode as is, SURVIVAL. I do understand that some people use it to build things like creative mode, if you choose to do so then do it. Personally i like survival better and neither I nor people who join my game are allowed to duplicate and when they do i take their stuff and throw it in lava but its definately getting patched, they said it on twitter that they meant to say furnace and dispenser in the fixes
