Depends if you want to play online i dont think so but if you want to play offline then what you do is you go download minecraft from minecraft.net, then you start it up and put a random name and password it will say a message then click play offline. But some servers will allow you to play with non purchased minecraft accounts. Also if you want to keep that save you have to sign in with the same name and password.

You cannot play online without a premium account unless the server is cracked. It is still possible though if thats what you asking.
