Well what I did was a unplugged everything in my old elite xbox all the cords and the hard drive waited a minute then plugged it back in worked from then on hope that helped!

Depends on WHAT rings...

You need to tell us hat rings light up and the secondary error code.

When you get the red rings, hold the sync button and press eject, the lights will change.

If all lights stay lit it's a 0, 1 light = 1, 2 lights = 2, 3 lights = 3. Press the eject button 4 times to get the error code.

So you'll end up getting a 4 number sequence.

You can do a reflow or reball.
Reball is pretty much a guaranteed fix but is a lot more complicated.

You can do a reflow yourself with a heat gun. People say not to use a heat gun but **** it. Worked every time I've done it. And they never RROD'ed again.

Make sure to apply Arctic silver.

You can either put it in the freezer' put a towel over it and put it in the microwave or put toothpaste on it

when it happened to my arcade, i put it ona towell and left it in closet where it wa cool.. make sure evrything is unplugged and your set!

Do the towel method (youtube search it) for a temporary fix. If your xbox is still under warranty you can send it in to Microsoft and they will fix it for you.
