Title says it all but I really like this maps so what should I do?
Any ideas?

If you have another Xbox controller just connect it up locally and play split screen. That way player 2 can find some obsidian and build a new nether portal to come rescue player 1. Or you could just kill yourself and re spawn on the surface.

1- Sleep in a Bed in the Nether. (Kuh-Boom!)
2- Have a friend join.

1)Have a friend join and make him go to the nether, where you are at.
2)Give him all your items and let him go back to the surface.
3)Kill yourself by jumping into the lava or fire.

You should be back in your house and your friend will return all your items to you.
