I managed to fit physics in my schedule, but everything I've heard about the teacher says that I'll probably have to teach it myself, which probably gives me more incentive to delve into acoustics and stuff on the side to relate it to whatever I'm learning.

My English classes have basically been mostly worthless too, aside from the semester of ACT practice. I can't exactly say that was a waste, since I got a 35 on it... Other than that, it's basically been studying other people's works, which is interesting, but it's not really anything I've remembered.

Biased against what exactly? It's not that we're poor people that can't afford Beats (jealousy), as the people that contribute to the thread (r00t_b33r, Parallel, and me) all have headphone collections worth at least three times as much as the Studios; and it's not an irrational hate against Monster--they're effectively helping to screw up the headphone industry by basically forcing the manufacturers we like to focus on bassy headphone to turn a profit.

In the opening of the thread you are hostile towards Beats. People who actually like them will then disregard the thread because your opinions differ. Get the concept yet?

Finally back from being gone all day, sorry for the late response.

In my thread I tell people not to talk about Beats and the like because that's not what the thread is for. It's for people requesting headphone advice, not sharing their opinions on headphones that are completely ridiculous and quite frankly a waste of time. I wish I could spend more time discussing good headphones than getting so hung up on awful ones. If they're so closed minded they can't handle being wrong or acknowledging that they bought the wrong headphones, then it's their loss.

You are hostile towards Beats. Do you understand that, that keeps people who are looking into Beats away.

Not really. I explain why Beats are bad and offer better alternatives.

Name me some good qualities. I'll name you what I find to be the three basic factors by which you can judge headphones. Consider that I judge EVERYTHING by it's price/performance ratio. It may not be inherently bad, but for the price, it is godawful.

SOUND: Just plain disgusting for the price. Not a single good thing to say here.

BUILD: Dismal, particularly for the price. Again, no possible praise. Poorly designed with poor materials.

LOOKS: Subjective, but to say they're the only good looking headphones out there is just ridiculous. They're also far from the best-looking cans out there. Personally I hate the looks of them, gaudy as sin and the glossy finish is just stupid. This is not something you can call either way, really.

EDIT: My god, I wish we could all just come to a resolution about this. It's a stupid argument that's been resolved dozens of times in the past and there's no longer any shadow of doubt that Beats are awful and should not be considered. Why does it just keep coming up? I'm ready to spend my time discussing and reading up on headphones that aren't trash, but we're still so hung up with beating a dead horse to a pulp that we're ignoring what's actually important. I'm sick of it. If people bothered to read the OP of my headphones post and stopped having an attitude like my motto, maybe we'd make some actual progress.

Well the sound quality is not terrible. It's just not worth the price. They do okay quality. If you take care of them right then they won't break. Granted you kinda have to go to farther lengths than you should. I think they they do look cool. No one looks cool walking down the street with a pair of Bose headphones. I also think it's special that they are bass heavy. They stay bass heavy without mudding out the treble. Not alot of headphones do that.

I do think that they are a waste but there not as bad as your saying. You overemphasize the bad things. If t=your thread wasn't bias then you would point out the good qualities.

I look for good qualities and find none. Their sound is not the least bit unique and they're not even that bassy. If you think they're the bassiest out there, you have much to learn. Same if you think keeping bass in its place is special, every headphone I recommend does that. There's not a single thing special about these headphones aside from marketing.

It's very clear you haven't used good headphones yet. I suggest getting some good ones so you can compare them for yourself I'm sure you will be presently surprised. Then maybe you will realize how bad beats truly are.

Until that happens we should stop arguing about headphones. Because I have seen dozens of arguments root beer has gotten into over beats. People bring up the same exact facts that you did, and root beer shoots them down. It's so repetitive and pointless. Anybody else wanna stop arguing and actually talk about music now?? or anything besides beats lol

EXCELLENT POINT. This is the music section, and headphones honestly should be in the technology section. On 4chan, people on /mu/ refer people wanting headphone advice to /g/, just an example. I'd rather keep headphone discussion in my sticky and out of the rest of the section because it's in the wrong place. If anyone made a headphone discussion topic in the technology section, it would be overrun by Beats people and I'd just have to keep explaining... And explaining... And explaining.
