you can place them on top of each other if u put dirt down first

i am not sure... but you place any type of block going up to the height you need the fence -1 then put a fence on it delete the block below and place another fence and so on. invite me to your game and i with show you.

The reason is that the xbox edition isnt at the version where fences are stackable yet.

Build Blocks up, then put on fence where you want it, destroy the block underneat the 1st fence, then do the same thing going down. Hope this helped.
