Never heard of this problem before, try re installing

your mine craft.

Mine used to do that all the time but since that last update it doesn't do it.

I used to get around it by either letting my friend go in for me or exiting and saving my game and then going into the nether as soon as the save loaded

Seems like I will have to do that but I rather we both get to go will just wait till the next update maybe the fix it.

quick fix just kill ur self drop all items out of ur inventory and kill ur self and try 2 go back if that dsnt work destroy ur nether portal both by inviting sum1 to ur game get ur friend to go to nether (shouldnt freeze) and get him 2 destroy the portal...

now make a new 1 that should fix it

i dont recall that every happening to me...

just save like every ten mins...
