Hey guys im going to build a gaming computer b/c my office one sucks ass >.>, but anyways i wanna make sure all my parts work together before I purchase them so i don't get screwed over.

It's a much better CPU. On par with a 2500k in some games and crushes any AMD CPU within it's price range. Match that up with a $100 MSI Z77 G43 and you'd be good to go.
