I've noticed recently as I make people YouTube Backgrounds that Include 3D text they get more subs even if they dont have videos ( AmuseCentral is a good example ). I tried sticking with 2D but I dont think I get as much attention... Im just wanting to know what you as the veiwers think.

They both look very sexy but I always prefer 3-dimensional text for YouTube backgrounds. I would have to say my personal favourite is the first background.

Good job on both of them though, they are both nice.

IMO 2D > 3D . I think more graphic designers stick to 2D on their youtube backgrounds.(eg. Acrez, Rated, ChromeDesigns, etc.) In this case, 2nd background.
