the topic says it all pretty much. im getting a new desktop and wondering what a good display is. it will mostly be used for gaming.

This is the equivalent of an $800 monitor as it uses the same panel as the Dell Ultrasharp U2711 and iMac 27". S-IPS, 2560x1440... Absolutely beautiful and the best deal in monitors. Still, it'll take a powerful system to run games at native resolution as it has about twice the pixel count of a standard 1080p monitor. That doesn't mean you can't run it at 1080p. Then it's just like having a super high-end 27" 1080p monitor! I seriously just can't recommend this thing enough and always recommend it to people if possible. Also, what are the specs of your computer and what games do you want to play?
