I just got to that part and I killed him SPOILER ALERT well I did that and if you have the bow you can ask his dauhgter the one you been traveling with you can ask for her blood you need the bow,her blood,and eleven arrows and you can still knock out the sun but I think it only last for a day in my experince.

Yes, there is no choice. Even if you give him the bow and are all nice, he will still try to kill you b/c as she says, your too strong
