Team Fortress 2 has sort of a currency called metal. There is Scrap metal, Reclaimed Metal, and Refined Metal.
Scrap Metal-.11
Reclaimed Metal-.33, or just 3 scrap.
Refined Metal-1.00, or 3 reclaimed/9 scrap.
Other types of currency besides metal.
If you play Team Fortress 2 regularly, you should start learning item prices/rarity. It goes like this.
Weapons
Hats

MannCo Keys- Obtained by being bought from the store for $2.50 or traded. Worth 2.44- 2.55.
Earbuds- You could get these if you played on Mac on a certain time. Now incredibly rare. Worth 24- 25 keys.

Weapons
[Unique]- Normal items that you get as drops. 95% of them are worth a scrap, unless they just came out or were just made available as drops.
[Strange]- These weapons can only be obtained from trades or unboxed from crates. They vary in prices, example, a Strange Huntsman can be worth 15 keys, while a Strange Eyelander can only be worth a scrap, or .11.
[Vintage]- All weapons in your inventory were turned into the quality if you had them before the Mannconomy update (update that added the store). Pretty useless, but I recommend investing in at least one, kind of like investing in gold irl.

Hats
[Unique]- Normal hats, can be obtained by crafting, finding, or unboxing one, prices vary. Can be worth alot, usually worth somewhere above a refined metal.
[Unusual]- Very rare hats. I would say if you unbox one of these, do not trade it unless you are a advanced player. I know some that can be worth around $50 of real money.
