hi, just purchased the geforce gtx 260 and im having problems. i have plugged the card into the pci-e 2.0 slot of my motherboard and connected 2 6 pin power slots ( one of the 6 pins is an adapter) and well my graphics card isnt working its like its completly dead. the fans arnt spinning and no sound is beeing sent out either, there is no signial on tv and i just cant figure out what is wrong. i dont know if its my motherboard, the 6 pin adapter or the actual graphics card. but i dont think it is the graphics card beacuse when i moved it slightly the fans started spinning like it was complely working although i cant get it to go again.

any ideas what i can do here?

Mobo: ASROCK M3N78D

I had a problem like this with my GeForce 9600gt yesterday my fans wernt working, no sound etc and no video input

as you said, when you moved it a little bit it fans started working, this means you need to seat your card correctly, make sure is it 100% in and locked in place (i seated mine incorrectly and when i put in my VGA cable it made the card loose) so just make sure it is in.

once the fan starts working so you know there is power to the card if there is no display on your tv there are a few different things you can do:

1.Go to the manufacturers website for you montherboard and look at their BIOS updates. i had to download the VGA update for my montherboard before my card would work

2.Download the latest driver for your card.

3.go into your BIOS (normally pressing Delete on startup) and go to advanced, southbridge and change your graphics to PCIe or PCI.

step 3 is a general idea as all BIOS are different and you should really look it up first and make sure you know what you are doing.

however changing my bios did nothing for me and step 1 was all i needed
