I was about to blow up a mine and I put the TNT down and hit it and it just gave me it back, is this a bug or is it a new way now?

This is the new way, you have to use flint and steel to blow it up, the same as pc.

you can also use flint and steal. When you light the tnt on fire it will have a longer detonation time or you can hit it an it is the same as last update.
