I doubt it, but I think you will need a USB Flash Drive to update that.

Update: Never mind. you are able to burn it to a CD and use that to update. Here's the [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] .

I think if you just download the update to a usb drive and move it to your other xbox it'll ask to update.

If the console is banned you shouldn't be able to update it period.

From Xbox.com "...or play new games that require a console software update."

This obviously implies that you can;t update the console at all. It will probably just come up with an error saying you're banned.
