Personally, I have been a fan of the Halo franchise since way back in the day when it was shipped out with the Original Xbox.Since then, I have bought all the titles following Combat Evolved. They have all been great, no doubt, but i feel Halo met its peak with Halo 3. The overwhelming factor in this argument is, simplicity. Halo 3 was such a simple, honest and hilariously fun game. I played it for many years , and when news hit about a certain Halo Reach. I flipped. Sure Halo 3 ODST was great, but another full Halo game? New custom games? I was gobsmacked. After a year of anticipation and BETA testing, I got my sweaty palms on my copy. I hit the campaign and finished in no time - What a great storyline, maybe a little better if say Noble Six actually boarded the pelican, and was, infact Masterchief. So i decided to hit custom games and wow, thanks for builing our expectations so high and taking a huge shit on us, Bungie ! This over-complicated, jargon filled non-sense made big party custom games a thing of Halo past. They killed Halo 3's very roots... Simplicity, and without this factor, the rest seem irrelevant.
Is it too late for Halo to rediscover it's roots and bring back ' Pizza and Halo night ' ?
I sure hope not.

They actually said custom games and forge will be way more in depth than it was in reach. I understand where you're coming from, but once you master the new system, the complexity of the custom games is so much better. I admit i still liked halo 3 forge a bit better than reach (I'm usually only ever forging in all halos) because it was harder to master. But the more people that can easily manipulate the vast amount of new forge objects, who knows what epic games will come to Halo 4? Coming from someone who has over 100 forged maps on Halo 3 and Reach, I'm still excited about it and will hop right into forge on launch date. I definitely know what you're trying to say. The same argument is made about CoD4, and how it was the best one because of simplicity. Oh well though, we'll have to see what 343 Industries has to impress us
