What is The War Z?
The War Z is a zombie survival shooter-MMO that has a huge emphasis on realism. You will play in large open worlds with up to 200 and 400 square kilometres to play in and up to 250 players per game server. The game has a combination of first-person and third-person giving gamers a different choice of perspective while playing. There will also be PvE and PvP which will no doubt grab a lot of hard-core competitive players attention. The game is said to have a very strong role playing element with lots of customizable features towards your in-game survivors. Dozens of unique skills can be learned and improved. Also, new weapons and items become found as the player explores and try's to survive the world.
It is also good to note that there will indeed be different social elements which will include help requests, bounties and much more. There will be safe settlements where players can purchase, sell and store items as post notes for other players to see. The game will be a single purchase, no subscription fees or in-game transactions. There will be full developer support with regular scheduled free content.
"Quoted from the Executive Producer of the game, it may clear up some questions you have and give more information"
"1) We just announced the game and clearly in coming weeks, we'll be posting gameplay videos, hands on previews from press, mosre screenshots, information, etc.
2) Game is SURVIVAL sandbox experience. It's more about emergent gameplay, not prescripted stuff and storylines. Ie - we give you tools, and you build ( or should I say rebuild ) your world.
3) There're no typical MMO levels, grinding, etc. Yes there're skills like "I can sprint longer" that can be trained, but that's about it.
4) There're no MMO QUESTS as you think of them. Ie - you won't need to complete some boring goals like go kill 100 zombies, etc.
5) So for weapons - we have extensive list of guns and more importantly gun attachments and customizations. Some will be relatively common, others will be really rare and hard to find.
6) And just so we clear - you can't just go and BUY guns using microtransactions. You'll have to get it by playing the game.
Think of The War Z as open world post apocalyptic society simulation. It's obviously much more accessibe than DayZ, yes it does offer you more features, but at the end - it's all about HOW players will choose to use tools we gave them to create their own world and their own experiences."
Features:
-Big open worlds to explore between 200 to 400 square kilometers
-Two modes of play: Normal and Hardcore
-Combination of first-person and third-person perspectives
-Meld of PvE (player versus environment) and PvP (player versus player)
-Strong Role Playing Elements
-Multiple playable characters with customizable features
-Unique social elements, including bounties, help requests, trap setting, etc.
-Safe settlements where players can purchase, sell and store items as well as
post notes for other players
-Dozens of unique skills that can be learned and improved
