We got on Mars right before communications were blocked. It took a couple of hours for our satellites to get in position to communicate with it again. It got two to three pictures before we lost the connection though. Some more pictures should be coming today. The event last night was mainly for the landing. Now NASA should be updating their website when they see fit. This will last for two to four years.

They said the first few pictures would be small black and white photos of the wheels to check the surface is ok for the buggy. After that there should be high resolution photos in 3-4 days.

Actually seven countries helped with this, though of course the US is taking the credit due to it being our space program.
