Following the release of a patch for the 1.7.3 title update for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, 4J Studios insinuated on Monday that it could be a while before the next update that includes the long awaited Creative Mode.
"We're working on the 1.8.2 update, and deciding what to bring forward from 1.9 and beyond," 4J Studios tweeted. "Many weeks of work to do yet, so not out soon."
Meanwhile, Stuart Ross has also been sharing nuggets of information about what might be included in the 1.8.2 update and how Creative Mode will be integrated.
"We haven't decided what the Creative menu will be like, but it probably won't be like the 1.8 one with the large scrolling menu," Ross said. "It will be something that isn't too cumbersome to use with a controller."
Most notably, your current Minecraft worlds will not be deleted with the next title update. However, you will need to create a new world if you want to take advantage of the new items and structures such as Strongholds with treasure or chasms with new minerals to use.
Updates that 4J Studios is still deciding on for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition includes Enchanting and Breeding. Ender Pearls are in but will lack the ability to teleport for now. A Hardcore mode with no respawns will have to wait until at least 1.9. We'll also have to wait for an increase in the world size.
Finially, Ross hints that there are more features coming that may not be available for the PC version.
"There may be some new features in the next update...but you might not notice," he said in response to a fan on Twitter. "There will probably be more unique things in the future, yes."
