No they are nowhere near worth it. Pretty much you pay for crappy hardware and flashy lights...

NONONONONONO!
Alienware is hooorrribly overpriced. My 7th grade cousin has one (the small one) And it is worse than my $500 notebook I have. All you are paying for is the name and some fancy LED's. (credit to whoever said that). I know you already said you wouldn't build your own, but I HIGHLY recommend you do. It is not that hard. PLENTY of guides out there to assist you. But NO, DO NOT GET ALIENWARE!

99% of pre-built's are not worth it.
It will be incredibly hard to find one worth the money if not impossible.
Build your own, it's easy. I will even seed you a link to an in depth tutorial.

Everyone with the slightest notion of computer knowledge would advise you against a pre-built piece of crap, they place sub par components and charge waaaayyy too much. If you have the money to splash out on an alienware, then I assume you have a high budget. Just go to this thread, they'll sort you out:

I realize it's cheaper, but knowing me, I'd mess up ruining the parts that I just bought, so that's why I want one already made.
