Why is 64GB not enough? It's only for the boot drive and his other most frequently used programs. But you're right about the CPU, I forgot it was dual core. He can drop the SSD if he wants and get a 2500k.
An i3-2100 is more than powerful for gaming and catches up to the 2500k in some games since games don't utilize 4 cores. An i3-2100 + SSD is a more balanced build than a 2500k + generic HDD for boot + storage.

Thanks. I thought so too, but was too lazy to look at benchmarks. I was also assuming he was doing heavy video rendering, but that is probably not the case.

Why would I include a 2TB HDD then? o_O
However, I was wrong about the HDD. You can actually get a 3.5TB Samsung Spinpoint for cheaper.

wowmanshark wroteHey FX is great for what he saying to be done. I have a 4100 and for the price I love it. Don't judge it till you have bought it, And if your on a $1000 budget I don't think at least an Intel i5 and a SSD will workYaoMing wrote Get a better processor, that looks pretty expensive for what it is i got the 8120 for the same price and it may be because i'm in the uk but i have never heard of rosewill
Again, a bad choice. Don't go for any FX CPU.

You don't have to buy things to judge them, especially with something like a CPU when every single aspect of it can be measured to be compared against other products. The FX series is a huge flop.

r00t_b33r wroteNo it is not. I bought it because I was on a $500 budget and it does what it needs to do. Yes at some point I will go to an Intel, but right now they are way to expensive.Kevin-Garnett wrotewowmanshark wroteHey FX is great for what he saying to be done.
