Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched 12 years ago.
CS: GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content (de_dust, etc.). In addition, CS: GO will introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more.
"Counter-Strike took the gaming industry by surprise when the unlikely MOD became the most played online PC action game in the world almost immediately after its release in August 1999," said Doug Lombardi at Valve. "For the past 12 years, it has continued to be one of the most-played games in the world, headline competitive gaming tournaments and selling over 25 million units worldwide across the franchise. GameModes
Arms Race
Also known as gungame. Fight your way through every gun in the game (including knife). To win, one must be the first to get a kill with the golden knife which is the last tier weapon.
Demolition
Two teams, one bomb site in the middle of the map. To win the round either eliminate the other team or successfully plant the bomb. Both teams start off with set weapons. M4A4 for CT and AK-47 for T. This mode has a twist though. Every time you kill an enemy, your gun for the next round will be downgraded. Every 5 rounds teams swap. Best out of 10 wins.
Classic

Classic
If you've ever played a Counter-Strike game, you'll know what this is. The classic gamemode featured in all Counter-Strike games. Use money you get from killing enemies, planting/defusing the bomb, winning, or rescuing hostages to buy weapons and gear. Two scenarios are featured in this gamemode - Bomb site and hostage rescue. Both are self explanatory. In the bomb site scenario terrorists must plant a bomb in one of the designated bomb sites. Counter-terrorists must keep the terrorists from making a successful plant. In the hostage rescue scenario counter-terrorists must find hostages and bring them back to the designated hostage rescue area. Terrorists have to stop them.

Customization is big in Counter-Strike. You can customize anything from maps, gun skins, all the way to game modes and GUIs. Thanks alot mate this deserve and it looks sick i have played Counter strike before i did enjoy but im more off a cod player and im defiantly getting this

nice information...but needs to all be centered. Gamemodes all the way to achievements are on the right side...good topic I like it.
