That's a good tut for a 2 wide bridge but won't work for a 3 wide.

Just checked mine... I did it kinda the same as the 2 however---

S-R-P-P-P-R-S ;would be the top layer S= Redstone R= Repeater P= Piston(sticky)

that would power the two sides then in the middle you could have---

........P
........T
........B
........T
........B
S-R-T


T= red stone torch

This will work, depending on what you want to use to activate it you may want to add a flip-flop and even a bypass for one or another side if using a pressure plate.
