Assassins Creed III Mega Thread by Z61 | -MonsterArmy-
Synopsis:
Set in Colonial America, the Assassin-Templar war has become involved in the American Revolution. As series' protagonist Desmond Miles, the player controls a young half-English, half-Native American man named Connor Kenway, drawn into the fight against tyranny when his home is attacked by colonists. Over the course of the game, Kenway will encounter historical figures including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Charles Lee, Israel Putnam, Paul Revere, General Lafayette, John Pitcairn, William Prescott, King George III, Samuel Adams and Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben. The story will span 30 years of Connor's life, from 1753 to 1783. Boston and New York will be cities that can be explored, as well as the American Colonial Frontier, spanning forest, cliffs, rivers, Connor's Mohawk village, and the settlements of Lexington and Concord. It will be open for the player to take part in hunting activities, and approximately one third of the story will take place in the Frontier. The entire Eastern seaboard will also be explorable via Connor captaining a ship.

Additional information on the synopsis:
This is my personal synopsis.
From what I have seen via E3 game-play and teasers is that the game will feature a much more fluid evasion system for combat and a much better combat AI in general. One video even shows Connor executing a Enemy from a moving hay-bale.

New Weapons:
This may not be all, these are what we have seen so far.
Bow and Arrow:

Connor is seen wielding a bow and arrow, which will presumably come in handy during the in-game hunting. The bow will also be Connor's preferred long-range weapon.
Rope Dart:
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
This grappling hook-like implement can harpoon and drag enemies into treetops. With the Rope Dart, Connor uses the victim's weight to safely slide down from relatively high up. This uses ammo, and is not reusable.
Tomahawk:

Connor carry's a tomahawk with the blade itself forming the iconic Assassin's Creed Crest and can be dual wielded with his detachable hidden blade.
Hidden Blade:

The Hidden Blade is now detatchable and can be used as a small knife.
Pistol:

The pistol will have ability to dual wield pistols. These appear to be one shot kills on low-level enemies (wolves, Regulars).
Musket:

Both British and Colonial soldiers arm themselves with muskets, These take very long to reload, and Connor will be using them mostly as melee weapons.
Sawtooth Sword:

Multiplayer:
The multiplayer of AC3 seems to have been completely upgraded from AC:R, they have made the multiplayer have more characters than in the past and atleast one new multiplayer mode similar to Call of Duty's Domination mode.
Wolf-Pack Mode:
That is right, Assassins Creed is going Co-op, sort of. In Assassins Creed 3 we will still see the same multiplayer we have grown to love (or hate) but we will also see something new, a 4-player cooperative mode where the team of 4 has to execute 4 enemies in a stylish manner.

You are lucky, If you was to buy AC Revelations (In my opinion) you would have to but AC 2 and AC Brotherhood because Revelations wouldn't make sense as you haven't played the originals. The reason your lucky is because its a new protagonist meaning a new story line so you won't get confused because you have started from the very fist one of this new protagonist.

I thought the 5-6 minute cutscene in the beginning helped those who didn't play the previous ones some insight into the story.

I think it's going to be great. I love how the main character is half Native American and how aggressive he is. The weather dymanics look great. Climbing trees sounds interesting gameplay wise. Hunting is also something that is new and is interesting, like in Red Dead Redemption. I feel I am going to die a lot due to everyone having a gun though, lol. It looks great though, and the naval battles are way cooler looking than Revelations' tower defense.

They may have guns but we have stealth, skill and dual blades. The key difference is they are soldiers we are assassins. :stern:
