Hot swapping is the act of allowing the xbox to unlock the hard drive, so that you can gain access to it, by connecting it to a PC. It involves removing the IDE ribbon from the Drive, while it is power on. te end result is similar to having a flashed Xbox but hot swapping is more dangerous I'm the aspect of it is easy to ruin your disks. I would go with buying a flashed console or sending yours away to get flashed as it is much safe in the aspect of saving your games. if you use an outdated flash you could get banned so do your research after system updates before playing burnt games. hotswapping is switching disks while your xbox is reading the disk so while the disk is still spinning you can use modded iso's with that

Hotswapping is basically tricking your xbox into thinking it has the original disk in it but it really has a different disk in it. Im not sure if you can still do it this way but a few years ago you could put a disk in (Call of Duty WaW in my case) and go to the menu where you install the game and press install. Then you quickly swap the disks over with a modded version of the same game and from then on it will read that game as the modded version. Please bear in mind that you will have to keep your xbox and disk drive open at all times when doing this.
