How to find diamond:

1.Dig to bedrock
2.stack 10 blocks up from bedrock
3.Dig a 2x2 tunnel as far as possible you are garruntied to find loads of diamonds and caves.

It works for me every time

Duplicating is real easy just timing.
1, put your item in the furnace.
2, hit the furnace with your pic axe until 90 percent of it is gone then switch to your spade and keep hitting and it will dissapear and re-spawn.
3, wait 5 seconds go into the furnace hold a on the item in the furnace.
4, the duplicated item will be on the floor and your non-duplicated item will be in your inventory.
5, put the non-duplicated item in a chest.
6, pick up the duplicated item.
7, press a on the duplicated item.
8, hold down x until you get to 0 but it will go back to 64.
