Hello! And welcome to Jonny's CS:GO mega thread!

Pistols

Glock-18

As the starting pistol for the Terrorists, you shouldnt expect much from this weapon. The extremely high accuracy sacrifices firepower and leaves this starter pistol pretty useless in combat with other pistols.

P250

Unlike the Glock-18, the P250 packs a punch with its shots. It's stats are OK all round. Recommended due to cheap price and decent stats.

Five-SeveN

The Five-SeveN is kind of a hybrid of the Glock and the P250, but what this means is that its only slightly more powerful than the Glock but with less accuracy.

Desert Eagle

This weapon is a 100% favourite of mine! It's masses of power more than makes up for the lower other stats.
Highly recommended!

Dual Berettas

These akimbo weapons are fun to use. With a high fire-rate they can be deadly.

P2000

This is also a starter weapon and is very similar to the glock. Not recommended due to it's low firepower.

Tek-9

The Tek-9 is not a favourite of mine. It has horrible accuracy and a low firepower. Not recommended.

Shotguns / LMGs

Nova

This is the most basic shotgun you can get. It is very weak and the price reflects on it's performance. Not recommended.

XM1014

The XM1014 is almost the same as the nova, but with a faster fire rate. It has slightly less accuracy and less power due to its semi-auto feature. However, the semi-auto feature could be used to your advantage in close-quarter fighting.

MAG-7

This is a single-shot shotgun. It is very powerful but it is let down by its slow fire rate. Not recommended.

Sawed-Off

This classic shotgun has a lot of damage, but has a slow fire rate. If you hit, it can be great, if you miss, it can suck.

M249

This LMG is very powerful but has a very slow fire rate. This LMG is recommended for large maps.

Negev

This LMG sacrifices accuracy for fire rate. It has a large recoil but can deal a good amount of damage to your opponent.

Sub-machine Guns

MP9

Exclusive to the Counter-Terrorist team, this SMG is fast to use and fast to fire. Its not very powerful, though.

MAC-10

This gun is similar to the MP9, with it's high fire rate but low fire power. Not recommended.

MP7

If you have the cash it might be worth opting for the MP7. The fire rate is reduced in place for the increased fire power.

UMP-45

I'm sure you're familiar with the UMP-45 from other games and probably know it's a decent gun. Recommended!

P90

Considering the cost of this weapon it probably isnt a surprise that its the best SMG around. I use this gun myself and have to say, it owns. Highly recommended!

PP-Bizon

The PP-Bizon is similar to the MAC-10. It has a large mag which could come in handy in certain situations.

Rifles

FAMAS

This is a very basic rifle but it does offer a guaranteed performance. Can be changed to burst mode which fires 3 bullets at one touch of the gun. Highly recommended for beginners.

Galil AR

The Galil is almost the same as the FAMAS, but without offering the 3 bullet burst option. A great first weapon upgrade, and useful on maps like Dust.

M4A4

This is one of the most expensive rifles, and for good reason. It is extremely accurate, so is good at long range. It's fire power is quite low, however, so you will need to make sure you're hitting! (2 hit headshot.)

AK-47

The Terrorist equivalent of the M4A4. It has a very high fire power but less accuracy and more recoil. Highly recommended!

SSG 08

This is the cheapest available sniper rifle, which makes it the weakest. A good starter sniper but you'll want to look at upgrading quickly to a more powerful rifle.

AUG/SG553

These two guns are practically the same. Both are very accurate and have a short scope. Extremely good at close range but can also be used at long range. Highly recommended.

AWP

This sniper rifle is a far more powerful sniper. It will kill in one hit (above the waist) and has a 2x zoom scope. Highly recommended for all of you sniper fans!

SCAR-20/G3SG1

These two rifles are also practically the same, they both are hybrid snipers and are very good at long range. Very good weapons and i recommend them to players who like to avoid close range combat.

Maps!

Aztec (Defusal)
Aztec (de_aztec) is one of the few jungle theme orientated maps in the Counter-Strike series. Unlike most other maps, this map favors snipers since it is a very large open-spaced map.

Dust (Defusal)
Dust (de_dust) is well renowned for its simplicity and was at one point the most popular map in Counter-Strike series.

Inferno (Defusal)
Inferno (cs_inferno) has the potential to allow snipers and close-combat players to enjoy this map. There are various possible sniper points scattered throughout this map!

Italy (Hostage rescue)
Italy (cs_italy) contains narrow passageways in the open landscape of the map that leads players to carefully traverse throughout the map or rush to prevent getting seen by enemy forces.

Nuke (Defusal)
Nuke (de_nuke) is a small map in which a variety of weapons and grenades are used by players.

Office (Hostage rescue)
Office offers many hiding areas since it has many CQB (close quarters battle) spots. Submachine guns are recommended for this map, especially MP5 and ES C90.

Train (Defusal)
Train (de_train) is a small but open-spaced map that allows snipers to easily eliminate exposed enemy players and makes designing a quiet and controlled ambush harder to implement.

Baggage (Arms Race)
Baggage takes place, predictably, in and around a baggage claim area at a modern airport, which hosts the arms race game type.
Shoots (Arms Race)
Shoots takes place somewhere in South or Central America and judging from the title, it may be set on some kind of illegal drug plantation.

Shorttrain (Demolition)
Short Train is the modified version of Train. It only has one bomb site which is bomb site A. Bomb site B is completely cut off from the map.

Bank (Demolition)
The Bank is an Arsenal: Demolition map. The map setting is probably somewhere downtown of west USA. The goal of Terrorists is to blow up a safe inside the bank.

Lake (Demolition)
In this map, all the action will take place in and around the house by the lake. There is only one bomb site in this map. The Terrorists must plant a C4 at the bomb site and prevent the Counter-Terrorists from defusing it.

Safehouse (Demolition)
This map was introduced with the original release of the beta and has served has a map to be played with demolition and competivive gamemodes.

Sugarcane (Demolition)
Sugarcane takes place within a cane sugar mill somewhere in South America. The design of the map which is located near a warehouse is a reminiscent of Assault.

Stmarc (Demolition)
St. Marc takes place in the coastal port town of Saint-Marc, Haiti, deep in the Caribbean.
