RR9 wroteYes. Did have is the verb.Divertedly wroteRR9 wrote Okay so I'm writing a paper for my English class and the thing I have always been confused on is whether to use affect or effect, I have multiple sentences with this problem because I have a 5 page paper here, I will disclose an example sentence and the first to tell me which to use and why will get 100 rep. 25x4first sentence effect. It's used as a verb, the helping verb makes it did affect. Second sentence is effect. It's used as an adverb. Third sentence is effect I'm pretty sure, if you finish the sentence I'll be able to be sure.
In what ways did Stephen Biko (affect or effect?) South Africa?
Stephen Biko had a huge (affect or effect?) ....
What (Effect or Affect?) did the education....
Thanks.
What (Effect?) did the education of the three leaders have on their impacts on South Africa?

TheProCAMPER wrote Always use affect when it is a verb.
Effect is a noun.
so,
1.affect (verb)
2.effect (noun)
EDIT: I'm an AP English student. I know these things :p
This is completely correct. Affect is a verb, while effect is a noun. I am not the best at english(which is why i am becoming an engineer) but I guarantee you that this is correct.

I believe it's AFFECT, if it's a verb. Then yeah, it's affect, if it was something like After Effects CS6, EFFECTS is like, designs, or an edit.

Affect for the first one
Effect for the second
Affect for the third
Affect is before like "Im going to Affect the community"
Effect is after like "My efforts have effected the community well"
