I'll feel silly if I'm wording this wrong, but a PSU won't fry your stuff if it's overkill on wattage. A 1000w PSU is called a 1000w because it's maximum power delivery is 1000w.

A 900w or any wattage power supply doesn't supply a constant 900w to the components. The rating you see is the maximum output it can deliver.
Let's say you have an old 90s computer that only draws 200w at load. If the PSU decides to break and all you have is a 900w PSU just laying around, as long as that PSU has all the necessary connectors you can run that computer off of a 900w PSU, but the PSU will only be supplying 200w instead of its 900w potential. Granted it won't be very energy efficient, it will get the job done.

Power supplies are the most important part of your machine, so never skimp on one. I love Seasonic just because they never displease me or really anyone I know. Best quality PSUs I've ever owned come from Seasonic. I wouldn't go with any other brand, but as long as the reviews are good it should be fine.

Thanks. WHat about coolmax? The only difference is that the coolmax one is modular. Also the antec one has had some reviews that say its fan is poorly constructed and what not. So just wondering if coolmax is a good brand too. Thanks!

I own an Antec case. I would assume that the fan in their cases and PSU are about the same. The fans in my case feel solid, they don't vibrate, not that loud and just overall feel something that I can trust. As far as Coolmax, I've never heard of them, but if the reviews are good I'd get it.
