I was watching it man. The silence was nearly killing me because that usually is a VERY bad sign. Cole almost crying just shows you how real it was. It was disturbing to say the least. Not until a couple of months ago did I find that Lawler is straight edge just like CM Punk. I found that pretty surprising, especially since how he acted during the Attitude Era. I hope he gets well soon. I wouldn't blame him if he decides to retire after this.
I also just read an update that when he is physically able, he will receive a surgery to have a stent placed in his heart. Man, I hope everything goes well.

It wouldn't surprise me if he did retire, but who would take his place JR or somebody else.

I would say either JR for a little bit, or maybe bring in Josh Matthews from Smackdown since he is getting a bit better. They may put Matt Striker back as a Smackdown announcer and put Matthews on Raw. That's the way I see it happening anyway (if Lawler retires of course.)

Ah, I actually forgot about that. That would be a good idea if he retires. Maybe after he does his charity event with the mountains and Bermuda kids he will come back.

Updated with surgery story and what do you mean by wrestled in Memphis the whole weekend because I live in Memphis and there was nothing in the Memphis Flyer or on Local T.V. about it.

Correction, it was not in memphis but aruba, look here:
According to WWE sources, Jerry Lawler flew to Montreal after working several independent wrestling shows over the weekend. He had a very long flight from Aruba to Montreal so it was a brutal travel day for him before appearing on RAW.
