okay so i am going to try to explain this as best as i can. So my mom is buying an iPhone today. Basically she is buying the phone because i told her that i would give her mine. So my question is Can i switch my phone to her number or does that cost extra? My provider is Sprint if that matters.

you need a micro sim for the iphone just keep your old number ring you phone provider give them the number on the sim and ask them to switch it to your previous number. simples!

All phones have sims.
Ask your retailer to switch them out

Yes, you can put your number on the new phone.
Ask your provider to do so.

NOT all carriers have sims. My iphone 4 and 4s on Verizon dont have sims, but any phone on 4G lte i believe will have a sim of some sort (Even on CDMA )
