Nobody can really criticize modern music without simultaneously criticizing themselves. The music of whatever the time period is a reflection of the time period it is created. The music of today is based off the idea that teens/young adults think they can do whatever they want to do with few immediate repercussions, so more music based on that is created because more teens buy it because it gives them justification for doing sketchy things.

I prefer older music as well but hey I cant complain, it's what the new generation finds appealing...

I like the 2009 era... Like green day and three days grace. But it seems it has gone out of style.

The 80's and 90's were the best. Metal of all sorts thrived then. Very few metal bands from the 2000's are actually good.
