Thank you. I don't understand how it could hurt just teaching someone it?

There are numerous tools out there that people use to perform "stress tests" (overloading a network with requests). Immature people or groups of them (or activists; these attacks ore often justified) use the tools illegally. For instance, if you knew the IP address of a friend, you would be able to attack his network and he would be unable to connect to the internet assuming both of your networks are of adequate bandwidth. But you wouldn't do that because it's illegal and immature, right?
