i have a spare xbox drive and wondering if i can use it to burn games instead of a liteon iHas or kreon just wondering if it would work

No this is not possible. But you can rip games using a benq or liteon drive and special firmware for both. iHas is the best way to go. You can find cheap prices on ebay.
