Hey guys, just got my new custom PC, tell me what you think:
Intel Core i7 3770k 3.5 GHz
16 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX 660ti (2 GB)
Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H Motherboard
Corsair CMPSU-850AX (850 W)
240 GB Intel SSD & 2 TB Western Digital Backup HDD
Corsair H60 Liquid CPU Cooling System
LG DVD+-RW with Blu-Ray Capabilities
Just rate from one to ten, thanks.

The 3770K not useful unless you make consistent use of Hyperthreading. 16GB of RAM is unnecessary for almost everyone. The 7950 is a significantly better card than the similarly priced 660 Ti. An 850w PSU is overkill even for 660 Tis in SLI. Air coolers perform better than water coolers for less.
3770K: -1
16GB RAM: -1
660 Ti: -.5
Overkill PSU: -1
Liquid cooler: -1

If you use the capabilities of the 3770K and 16GB of RAM, then 7.5, but it's a safe assumption that you do not.

I will agree I probably went overboard with the RAM; Newegg had a sale and 16 GB at the time was like only $30 more than 8 GB. I just said what the hell and did it anyway. As for the 660 ti, I did contemplate the 7950 for a while, but I heard and read a lot of mixed reviews about it, so I just decided to play it safe and go with the 660 ti. (My friend has one and he only said good things about it.) He also sold me the power supply for really cheap because he had bought another one so I figured I would use it. One thing you said that I was unsure of was the air cooling over liquid cooling. I was always under the impression that liquid cooling, although more expensive, is quieter and more effective. It's not?

The Hyper 212 Evo will perform as good or better for half the price. Air does what sealed water coolers do for much less, so there's hardly any reason to get one.
8GB of RAM is available for under $35. That's why going overboard is not such a huge deal, although it is just outright wasted money.
The 660 Ti is better compared to the 7870. The 7950, especially with the new drivers, spanks the 660 Ti in most games. A lot of the PC people on TTG own one coincidentally, myself included! That's not why I recommend it, though, that would be stupid.
