The PVR 2 has gone down 30+ in Price! Read below for Link to Amazon!
As you all know, Hauppauge recently released their second edition of the PVR series. HD PVR 2 - Gaming edition.
I "had" the first PVR - Gaming Edition but as soon as the new PVR 2 came out I sold my PVR and got myself the new PVR 2. It runs through HDMI Cable ONLY for Xbox. For PS3 you still have to use the component cables.
I myself have both and Xbox and PS3, I use Xbox mostly but my PS3 every known and then. The PVR 2 works great with the xbox, But when I seem to try and set it up with the PS3, It just doesn't seem to work what so ever. I try all different ways.
Everything is perfect with the PVR 2 and you get much better quality than the first PVR, You can also play in HD 1080p/1080i whilst recording now which most people will like. BUT, If you record in 1080p the screen is bigger and when editing with 1280x720 settings you see lines going through the screen. Which is why I still record in the 720p with the PVR 2.
There is one downside and problem with the PVR 2, And that is when you record and get your raw file. Once you import into Vegas. The sound doesn't work. Vegas is not compatible with the Sound recorded through the HDMI cable. Hopefully there will be a fix for this... I don't know.
Overall, the HD PVR 2 guarantees better quality and gameplay and is cheaper than actually buying the First PVR. (Well, I got it for cheaper, I dunno about you.)

the sound doesnt import in vegas cause hdmi records audio in dolby digital 5.1 instead of stereo. add a 5.1 audio track and your good to go. dont go blaming software for your faults
