Use the boosters when coming out of turns, lead your shots when shooting at a target from a distance. Only flair when the beeping becomes constant. These are just some tips.

if you are having problems seeing the target you can press and hold down the down button on the d-pad and look around in the cockpit that always helps me and also lead the target and dont thrust while turning (you take sharper turns) hope this helps

unless your on the PC, the looking around the cockpit thing sucks...if your losing sight of people go into 3rd person(if available) and fly around like that until you aquire your target..also break when turning

The thing that helped me more than anything was watching 'Holy Hand Grenade's jet tutorials' watch them on YouTube, I think there are 3.

Pro Tips:
1) If you lose a jet, hold the right analog stick down untill you turn completely around, that should put you behind the jet that is trying to kill you. (That is if you are pretty high in the air, don't do this if your close to the ground obviously)
2) When blowing up a jet, go into first person, you'll kill easier (Fly in third person)
