My friends wants to get a gaming pc built and he is wondering if two video cards will work with one monitor. Please dont say that is a waste this is his build if it is a waste he will learn that the hard way i told him it is he said he doesnt care and he just wants to know if its possible. His motherboard is: [CrossFireX] GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3 AMD 970 Socket AM3+ ATX Mainboard w/ On/Off Charge, Ultra Durable3, 7.1 Audio, GbLAN, IEEE1394a, USB3.0, SATA-III RAID, 2 Gen2 PCIe X16, 3 PCIe X1 & 2 PCI

yeah its fine to use 1 monitor with 2 cards in crossfire or SLI

instead tell your friend to buy one video card that works with the Motherboard, that is better than the two, he may spend a bit more but it's better to save space inside his case.

Look for a computer with that and youll be set!

- Less heat.
- Open PCIE lane.
- Less power.
- Better airflow.
- No worries of bad SLI / CF scaling / driver issues.
More expensive =/= more better.

You dont have to worry about shuttering issues, driver issues, not all games support SLI/CF.
