One of my best friends work at Activision, and I asked him what would happen if we went online, and he said if it is legit, then you'll be reset on the 13th November, and if it's a illegal copy you'll most likely be console/account banned.
He said you're welcome to go online, but your stats will be reset on the official launch, because otherwise it would be unfair.

If you have a real copy of black ops 2 you want get banned/reset only if it is pirate copy then you could get Console banned,account banned,Reset or black ops IP ban.

P.S i thought the servers wer down until the 13th
