It's tricky in this game. Level doesn't matter when trying to get camos. First, you have to get 100 headshots with the weapon you want gold. After 100 headshots, many other challenges pop up and become available. Some are weird like "Get 150 kills with this weapon without any perks." or "Get 20 double kills with this weapon". Every one of these challenges you complete gives you a new camo. After every other camo is unlocked, you get gold.

are there community playlists like in mw3 and if so what gamemodes are there?

When it comes to score streaks are they actually streaks. (Meaning do you have to obtain that score without dieing) Or is it like the support tier on MW3 where it will carry on after your death?

Yes, there is a "Party" playlist. Familiar games are returning: One in the Chamber, Gun Game, Sticks and Stones, and Sharpshooter.
