I'm currently on 5.1.1 jailbroken and I want to update to 6.0, NOT 6.0.1.
How do I do this? I have tried shift restore but it won't work.

Are you sure? It has to be? I thought you could somehow update to a firmware higher than your current one by blocking apple's server? How come you can downgrade then with SHSH blobs, but can't update, annoying!

if shitf restore doesnt work try downloading an older itunes that supports 6.0 update and shift restore it there. that might work..or you might now have the right ipsw, which go here [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and download 6.0 for ipod 4g or whatever you have and retry the shift restore. im sorry if this doesnt work but apple is trying a lot not to get people to chose jailbreak over them.

thats not going to work because they still contact the apple server and wont let you do that.
